The beach in Hervey Bay.

Hervey Bay.

Hervey Bay is where the humpback whales come to play during the aussie winter. We went whale watching and were fortunate to see some of the amazing animals up close! This curious fella’ even swam under the boat to have a closer look at US. The picture can’t quite capture the size of him…

Visiting the beautiful Fraser Island. Here Mette’s  dipping her toes in Lake MacKenzie.

Subtropical rainforest on Fraser Island.

Shipwreck from 1935 on Fraser Island.

We spotted heaps of dingos as well! Cute dogs, but don’t go near them!

Update from Vietnam + Cambodia!

Street kitchen in Saigon – lovely, cheap food!

Fantastic pho (traditional Vietnamese noodle soup) with yummy seafood in the now quite famous Pho 2000 in Saigon – Bill Clinton stopped by here for lunch back in 2000.

Mette attempting to try out a Cambodian specialty at a local family’s place in the capital Phnom Penh – fried tarentula! She did not manage to swallow it…Lise ate a leg however! Yikes.

Small alter on the floor in our hotel in Phnom Penh.

Out and about in Phnom Penh.

Souvenirs from Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Countryside Cambodia.

Mette with this trip’s drink of choise: The strawberry margherita.

Mette getting a fantastic souvenir from Siem Reap, Cambodia!

…And I got something too! Pictures follow later… 🙂

Arriving on the crazy Khao San Rd. in Bangkok. Bit of a culture shock coming straight from quiet Cambodia!

Getting ready for a night out in Bangkok – also the last night with our great group! Bye guys!

A little bit of the Grand Palace in Bangkok.

Temple in Bangkok seen from the river.

An old pic from Hoi An (two weeks ago), relaxing in a cafe on a particularly hot day.

Hanoi by night.

View of the Perfume River, just outside Hue.

The beautiful Mette on a rooftop terasse in Hanoi, taking in the city views.

Night time in Halong Bay (view from the deck of our wonderful boat).

The time has almost arrived: Tomorrow I´m boarding the plane for Bangkok and then my girlfriend Mette and I are off to 6 weeks of adventure and fun! Naturally the blog wont be updated as often as usual this summer, but I´ll be back after the holidays, hoping some of you will still be following via Bloglovin 🙂
